The deadline to apply for the Lincoln Scholars Program is December 1st, 2024.

THE LINCOLN SCHOLARS PROGRAM:
The Lincoln Scholars Program is a premier four-year, full-cost-plus scholarship designed for selfless, high-achieving students who aspire to act boldly in the pursuit of the greater good. International and domestic students may apply. Successful candidates will possess the desire and capacity to change our world, demonstrated by:

Strong character with the potential to lead change, a capacity for creative problem solving and innovation, and persistence and drive to achieve significant goals

Significant and deep past involvement in something larger than themselves including but not limited to personal or extracurricular activities, such as the arts, athletics, community life, service and paid or unpaid work

A GPA that reflects high achievement in challenging coursework

Applicants may respond to the prompt by providing a written response or by creating a video.
Applicants should limit written responses to approximately 500 words and video responses to approximately 2 minutes long.
Applicants should not submit their essay for general admission as their written response.
Applicants who choose to submit a written response can utilize the space provided or upload a PDF version of their response. PDF file names should include the applicant’s name.
Applicants who choose to submit a video response should submit a link to their video in the space provided. No special editing or effects are expected. A selfie-video recorded on your handheld device is permissible and preferred. is the preferred format.

Choice 1: Describe one specific example when you have shown leadership. (Be sure to include the situation, why your leadership was necessary, and the results of your effort as well as something you learned about yourself as a leader.)

Choice 2: Describe one time when you initiated positive change at your school, in your community, or in your region. (Be sure to include why change was necessary, the process you used to enact change, who you worked with, and the results of your effort as well as something you learned about yourself through the process.)

Choice 3: Identify an issue, challenge, or problem our world faces. Cast your vision forward by proposing a solution you believe will address the problem and how you will be a catalyst in solving the issue. (Be sure to include a brief description of the issue/challenge/problem, who or what is affected by it, what will happen if the issue/challenge/problem remains unaddressed, and any previous experience you have had working on or studying the issue/challenge/problem.)
